Chelsea captain Millie Bright has withdrawn from the England squad to take an 'extended period of recovery' – with Lotte Wubben-Moy replacing her.

BBC Sport states that the 31-year-old will not feature in England's upcoming Nations League matches in order to take an extended break and allow a period of recovery following a long season. As a result, Arsenal defender Wubben-Moy has been called into Sarina Wiegman's squad for the Nations League games against Portugal and Spain.

Bright has played 43 times for Chelsea and the Lionesses this season, which has involved guiding the Blues to a domestic treble. The centre-back is a key player for England, and the main goal will be getting her fit and rested for this summer's European Championships in Switzerland in early July.
