Former Brazil star Zico has been the victim of a robbery in Paris that saw him lose a reported £420,000 worth of items.

The 71-year-old was the victim of the attack ahead of the Olympics in Paris, according to Le Parisien. The former attacking midfielder was in a taxi in the French capital when someone approached the car to distract him while another individual reached in to steal from him.

Zico was carrying a suitcase that contained a Rolex watch, a diamond necklace and cash worth €2,000 and $2,000 which was stolen from him. The Selecao legend filed a complaint with the Paris prosecutor's office and an investigation to find the culprits has been opened.

The 71-time Brazil international was invited to the French capital as part of the Brazilian delegation to the Olympic Games. The incident occurred on Thursday night after he left his hotel.
